Mumbai, Oct 22 (IBNS): Hindi film Sui Dhaaga has slowed down at the Indian box office after completing almost three and a half weeks since its release in late September.

In the last weekend, the film has collected only 40 lakhs from 100 screens.

In total, Sui Dhaaga earned Rs. 78.70 crore at the box office.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#SuiDhaaga has almost exhausted its run... Biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 62.50 cr Week 2: ₹ 13.30 cr Week 3: ₹ 2.50 cr Weekend 4: ₹ 40 lakhs / 100 screens Total: ₹ 78.70 cr India biz. Note: Cinemas on strike in Madhya Pradesh. Otherwise, the biz would have crossed ₹ 80 cr."

Sui Dhaaga, which hit the big screens on Sept 28, stars Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

Mauji and Mamta, played by Varun and Anushka respectively, reiterate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make In India scheme, which was launched in 2014.

The film also brought together National Award winning producer-director combo of Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya after their blockbuster Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
