Steady Recovery for Rishi Kapoor: the actor lost 26 kg and regained 7-8 kg again

Mumbai:  Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is recovering steadily . He was diagnosed with cancer while shooting in the capital last year. He needed to dye his hair white and was adviced to rush to Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York.

In the initial stages of the treatment he lost 26 kg of his body weight.. Now he regained 7-8 kgs although he is still under treatment.

There is a six-week gap between one treatment and the next  and the veteran actor can lead a normal life. He wants to spend that time at home not in New York.

"When I first came here, everyone was worried for me.  The problem was detected when I was shooting in Delhi and was equired to dye my hair white," he told Mumbai Mirror in an interview.

I had lost 26 kg as I had no appetite for the first four months. Now, I’ve gained seven-eight kg. I do not want to look too lean, but I haven’t gone back to my original self either.Thank God for that," he told the publication.

The 66 year old actor is feeling homesick now-a-days. He wants to return home in August and again move to New York in September.

He thanked his wife Neetu for supporting him.  "It's been a difficult time, very taxing, but Neetu (wife), and my children (Ranbir and Riddhima) have been very supportive. I am grateful to everyone," he said.

Known for his candid comments on Twitter, Rishi Kapoor also does not shy away from questions. About the spat between actress Kangna Ranaut and the journalists, the
veteran actor supported the actress and said, "Journalists write anything and it is the serious scribes who suffer".

Rishi Kapoor will be next seen in Jhootha Kahin Ka, which he filmed before leaving for the US.
