Mumbai, Feb 28 (IBNS): Ending the journey, Bollywood superstar Sridevi's mortal remains arrived at the crematorium in Mumbai on Wednesday where her final rites will be performed soon.

The mortal remains of Sridevi, who died due to "accidental drowning" in a hotel bathtub on Saturday night, were brought  to Mumbai from Dubai on Tuesday.

Sridevi was off to Dubai to attend a marriage ceremony.

Celebrities and common men joined to pay homage to the big screen icon on her last ride to Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle . 54-year-old Sridevi's body was wrapped with the tri-ocolour.

Her funeral will be held soon.

Her body was kept at the Celebration Sports Club in Mumbai till Wednesday afternoon. Thousands of her fans and celebrities reached the venue to pay homage to the actress.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Sushmita Sen, Kajol, Ajay Devgan, Tanuja and many others have dropped in to the Celebration Sports Club to pay homage to the actress.

The news of Sridevi’s death came as a huge shock to the entire film fraternity as well as her fans.

Though the initial reports said the actress had passed away due to cardiac arrest, later the forensic report claimed it to be "accidental drowning" that created somewhat mystery.

Some media reports also claimed that traces of alcohol have been found in her blood in the autopsy report.

Sridevi's husband Bonney Kapoor, who incidentally flew to Dubai to surprise his wife, reportedly found her unconscious in the bathtub.

She was taken to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
