Shah Rukh Khan turns 52, hosts pre-birthday bash with other actors

Mumbai, Nov 2 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned 52 on Thursday while the actor has already hosted a star-studded birthday bash a day ago in Alibaug, a coastal town in southern Mumbai.

Khan, who has started his acting career on television, completed 25 years in Bollywood in 2017. Known as King Khan, the actor is still worshipped and loved for his onscreen chemistry as "Raj" with "Simran" played by Kajol in the 1995 release Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which became a folklore in Hindi cinema and crowned him as the undisputed badshah of romance.

The film was such a blockbuster that it ran in Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre for a historic 1000 weeks till 2015.

The 52-year old actor-producer has acted in more than 80 films with several movies that had become a huge success not just in his career but also in the Indian cinema history.

His first television series was Fauji in 1989 followed by Circus in the same year.

Though initially he was rigid to acting in films, later he changed his mind to make his debut in films with Deewana in 1992 where he acted opposite late Divya Bharti and veteran Rishi Kapoor.

Khan, interestingly, who is mostly remembered as a romantic hero and for his on-screen romance with actresses, initially gained fame as an anti-hero in films like Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam.

However he reached the peak of the success in his acting career with romantic genre in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Pardes, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Yes Boss, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein.

Later, the senior actor of Bollywood ventured into various types of films with Chak De! India, Devdas, Paheli, Swades, Fan, Dear Zindagi.

The actor has turned out to be a producer over the years as well. The latest film under his production is Ittefaq, releasing on November 3.

The Dilwale actor also hosted a number of game shows including Kaun Banega Crorepati, generally associated with legend Amitabh Bachchan. He will be hosting a brand-new show Ted Talk, which is soon to be aired on television.

Apart from acting, producing films and hosting shows, Khan is also apt to participate in the sports field as a businessman. He has won three cricket teams, Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League, Tribago Knight Riders in Caribbean Premier League and Cape Town Knight Riders in South Africa's T20 League.

Ahead of his birthday, the superstar did not disappoint his fellow industry-mates as he hosted a pre-birthday bash in Alibaug where several actors including Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Sidhath Malhotra were present.

In a picture shared by director Karan Johar, who was also present in the birthday bash, on Instagram, several actors were seen to be present with Khan in Alibaug.
