Rakul Preet Singh announced as the ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ campaign on International Day of Girl Child

Mumbai, Oct 13 (IBNS): International Day of the Girl Child is observed every year on Oct 11.

On this occasion in an event held in Hyderabad, Rakul Preet Singh was named the Brand Ambassador of the Beti Bachao Beti Padao campaign.

A source close to the actress said, "Rakul is not just a multilingual actress working across industries with a PAN India reach but is also known for her philanthropic initiatives for children especially girl children in difficult circumstances. Thus, making her the most apt choice as the ambassador of the campaign. The Women Development and Child Welfare Department, State of Telangana, recognizing her work in the field and the influence she would have in swaying the perception of the public masses"

Commenting further on this initiative, Rakul Preet said, "I am honoured to be chosen as the brand ambassador and would fulfill my social responsibilities to the best of my ability as all of us owe it to the girls of the state and the country."
