Manikarnika teaser portrays fierce Kangana Ranaut as Queen of Jhansi

Mumbai, Oct 2 (IBNS): The teaser of upcoming Hindi film Manikarnika was released by the movie makers on Tuesday, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

In the much anticipated teaser, actress Kangana Ranaut could be seen in several fighting sequences while portraying the character of Rani Lakshmibai, the Queen of Jhansi.

Jhansi is now a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the teaser link saying, "POWERFUL... BRILLIANT... Teaser of #Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi... Stars Kangna Ranaut... Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi... 25 Jan 2019 release... #RepublicDayWeekend... #ManikarnikaTeaser: https://youtu.be/eBw8SPPvGXQ"

The plot of the film is centred on Rani Lakshmibai's fight against the East India Company.

Apart from Kangana, the film stars Jisshu Sengupta in a significant role.

The film is directed by Radha Krishna "Krish" Jagarlamudi an is slated to release on Jan 25, 2019.
