Mumbai, Sept 10 (IBNS): Makers of actress Priyanka Chopra's comeback Bollywood movie The Sky Is Pink have released the trailer of the film on Tuesday.

Inspired by a true story, The Sky Is Pink is a film about the abiding power of timeless love, and what it really means to be a family.

It is the sweeping and heartfelt journey of the love of a couple spanning 30 years, told through the lens of their sassy, sardonic and spunky teenage daughter Aisha Chaudhary. Most of all, it’s a poignant celebration of love and life itself.

The film brings back the much-loved on-screen couple Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar together who essay the lead roles. It also stars the young powerhouse of talent Zaira Wasim (who plays Aisha) and Rohit Saraf in titular roles.

Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur who have been known to pave the way for pathbreaking content-driven cinema with their earlier films like Barfi and Dangal have joined hands once again to bring audiences one of the most heartwarming and stirring romantic dramas of the year!

Entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala says, "Sky Is Pink will definitely win hearts all over the world. At RSVP we love telling stories that must be told and this one is for every family and such a universal story that will tug at our heartstrings. That’s why we are thrilled to release the movie in over 25 countries. “

Siddharth Roy Kapur adds, “The Sky Is Pink is about the triumph of love against all odds and the resilience of the human spirit. It is a film that will deeply move and inspire, and all of us at Roy Kapur Films are proud to be bringing this extraordinary true story to the world.”

Director Shonali Bose says, “This film has been a momentous journey for me. The Sky is Pink is a deeply personal story and I’m so excited to share it with everyone.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas says, "The Sky Is Pink is a story of love and hope and I think it will resonate with everyone at some level. We’ve all faced loss and this movie shows us how to celebrate the life of your loved one, instead of mourning their death. I knew playing Aditi Chaudhary was going to be challenging and portraying her journey on screen has been really special. As co-producer, I'm so proud to be a part of making a film like this."

Farhan Akhtar mentions, “This is a beautiful film that celebrates the enduring power of love and I am grateful that I am a part of such an amazing film. The entire process of making this film was both emotional and fun.”

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shonali Bose, The Sky is Pink is produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, in association with S K Global and Purple Pebble Pictures. The film is written by Shonali Bose and Nilesh Maniyar, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim, and Rohit Saraf.
The Sky is Pink is slated to release on 11th October 2019. Trailer out now!
