Google pays tribute to Indian actress Meena Kumari on birthday

Mumbai, Aug 1 (IBNS): Search engine Google has paid its tribute to multi-faceted Indian actress late Meena Kumari on her birthday on Wednesday.

Kumari, originally Mahjabeen Bano, was also a singer and poet apart from being an actress.

In a career of 33 years, Kumari had acted in 92 films.

Some of her notable films include Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Pakeezah, Mere Apne, Aarti, Baiji Bawra, Parineeta, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Foot Path, Dil Ek Mandir and Kaajal.

She began acting at the age of four. She acted as a child artist in films like Leatherface, Adhuri Kahani, Pooja and others.

On this special day, Google used its doodle to depict Kumari in red saree but with a sad face.
