Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar turns 51, B-town wishes him

Mumbai, Sept 9 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who has been entertaining his fans by playing colourful roles since 1990s, turned 51 on Sunday.

Akshay Kumar is known for gifting his fans string of hit movies every year.

This year, he was last seen in Gold movie.

The sports-based movie released on Aug 15.

Bollywood wishes Khiladi:

Actress and Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna tweeted: "Sometimes when you don’t plan things - it all falls in place - Happy Birthday to my lovely Mr K ! #birthdaybumps."

Actress Madhuri Dixit posted: "Happiest birthday wishes to you, Mr. Khiladi @akshaykumar! Have a great day and an amazing year ahead Lots of love! ."

Actor Hrithik Roshan said: "Happy birthday @akshaykumar wish you a year just as super as you. All my love !"

Actor Anil Kapoor tweeted: "Happy Birthday, @akshaykumar!! May you continue to win hearts on and off screen! Wishing you a lot more success this coming year! Lots of love, health & happiness always! Also, can't wait for the #2Point0teaser!"

Abhishek Bachchan, who has worked with Akshay in few films, remarked: "Here's wishing a very happy birthday to an all round great guy. @akshaykumar happy happy birthday Akki bhaiya. ."

Actress Mouni Roy, who shared the screen with Akshay in Gold, tweeted: "Happy happy birthday to our super human ,the man with a beautiful humble heart. @akshaykumar Sir , may your days always be filled with joyous songs, happy dances & unconventional jumps.
Happy birthday xx."

Akshay gifts fan a new poster of 2.0:

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar presented his fans a new poster of his upcoming film 2.0 on his birthday.

In the latest poster, Akshay could be seen in his villain avatar.

The teaser of the movie will be released this week.

Rajinikanth is also a part of the project.

Akshay: A glorious career

Born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia in the year 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab,Kumar has worked as a chef and a waiter in a restaurant in Bangkok before entering Bollywood.

Kumar made his Bollywood debut in 1991 with the film ‘Saugandh’, which was followed by the 1992 thriller film ‘Khiladi’.

After the success of ‘Khiladi’ he appeared in several other films of the Khiladi series including ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi’, ‘International Khiladi’,and ‘Khiladi 420’.

The year 1999 proved to be one of the most successful year in Kumar’s career as his performance in two films ‘Sangharsh’ and ‘Jaanwar’ was praised by the critics Apart from gaining fame as an action hero, Kumar’s comic roles has always been praised and with films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Garam Masala’ he established himself as a successful comedy star of the industry.

He also starred in few romantic films like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Namastey London’, ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ and others.

In 2008, he made his debut as a television host in the popular reality show ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

The actor has won several awards in his Bollywood career.

The actor has been awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India and has been honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Award for his outstanding achievements in Bollywood.

The actor is married to his co-star and actress Twinkle Khanna.
