Priyanka Gandhi Vadra meets ‘Alia Bhatt’, a cow in Kerala dairy farm

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday shared a lighthearted post on social media after meeting a cow named “Alia Bhatt” during her visit to a dairy farm in Thiruvambady, Kerala’s Wayanad district.

In a video shared on X, Priyanka can be seen petting and feeding cows while interacting warmly with local dairy farmers.

“Met a group of dairy farmers at a dairy farm run by the loveliest family (and even encountered a cow named Alia Bhatt!! Due apologies to Ms. Bhatt @aliaa08, but she was really a cutie pie!),” the Congress leader wrote in her post.

While her post began with humour, Priyanka used the opportunity to draw attention to the serious challenges faced by dairy farmers in the region, including rising costs, poor insurance coverage, and difficulty accessing quality cattle feed.

“Unfortunately, dairy farmers are struggling with multiple difficulties and many are unable to make ends meet. I intend to write to the concerned ministry to apprise them of the many issues they face, including the increased cost of veterinary medicines, lack of adequate insurance coverage, and difficulty in accessing good quality cattle feed,” she said.

In the video, the Wayanad MP is seen speaking with farmers, taking notes of their grievances, and thanking them for their time and insights.

“My gratitude to the many farmers who were kind enough to spend a lot of time explaining these issues to me. I will do whatever I can to help,” Priyanka wrote.

The post, which has garnered over 22,000 views, drew praise from social media users for balancing humour with empathy.

“It’s commendable that you’re meeting with and understanding the farmers’ difficulties. We sincerely hope the ministry addresses the critical issues of veterinary medicine costs and securing quality cattle feed soon. Your efforts are appreciated,” one user commented.

Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to the dairy farm comes amid her broader outreach in Wayanad, where she recently took over parliamentary duties from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after his election from Rae Bareli earlier this year.
