Bihar elections: Voting to take place on November 6, 11, results to be announced on November 14

Bihar will vote to elect a new 243-member state legislative assembly in two phases on November 6 and November 11, the Election Commission said on Monday.

While addressing a press conference,  Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said counting of votes will take place on November 14.

The elections will be held in 121 assembly constituencies in the first phase of the polling.

In the second phase, voting will take place across 122 constituencies.

The EC announced that the Gazette notification for the first phase will be issued on October 10.

The last date for filing nominations will be October 17.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination until October 20.

The Gazette notification for the second phase will be issued on October 13, with October 20 as the last date for filing nominations.

The last day of withdrawal was October 23.

The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect in the state.
