Bihar Assembly polls: BJP unveils first list of 71 candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday unveiled the names of 71 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.

A surprise exclusion is seasoned leader and Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav who is the sitting MLA from Patna Sahib, reported UNI.

Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with senior leaders Tarkishore Prasad, Renu Devi, Prem Kumar, Mangal Pandey, Krishna Kumar Rishi, Ram Narayan Mandal and Nitin Nabin have been in the first list.

The Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14.

The BJP is contesting the polls as part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The party is expected to release more lists in the coming days.
