Bengaluru auto driver claims two houses and AI startup investment, engineer stunned

| @indiablooms | Oct 06, 2025, at 01:53 pm

A Bengaluru engineer said he was left astonished after learning that an auto driver he met owns two houses worth around Rs 4–5 crore and earns Rs 2–3 lakh per month in rental income.

Engineer Akash Anandani shared the encounter on X (formerly Twitter), saying the driver also claimed to have invested in an AI startup.

“Bangalore is crazy — the auto driver said he has two houses worth Rs 4–5 crore, both rented out, earning Rs 2–3 lakh per month, and he’s also an investor in an AI-based startup,” Anandani wrote.

He said the driver told him he continues to drive his auto on weekends, as that’s how he began his professional journey.

Anandani added that he started the conversation after noticing the driver was wearing an Apple Watch and using AirPods.

The post, shared on October 4, has received over 76,000 views. Several users questioned the authenticity of the story, but Anandani insisted it was “true.”
