We enjoy much more consumer preference in West Bengal, says Vice President of Samsung Mobiles

Kolkata, July 13 (IBNS): Manu Sharma, Vice President, Mobile Business of Samsung India on Tuesday said that the company enjoys much more consumer preference in West Bengal with 51.3 per cent market share in the smart phone category at the launch of two new 4G smart phones in Kolkata.

“Presently we have a market 48.3 percent market share in terms of value in the smart phone category and in West Bengal we have a  market share of 51.3 per cent, we enjoy much more consumer preference in West Bengal,” said Manu Sharma, Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India.

In the 4G market, the company said it has a market share of over 60 percent.

Samsung India has launched the Galaxy J2 2016 and the Galaxy J Max in India. The Galaxy J2 2016 comes with two new features, the Turbo Speed Technology and Smart Glow, a colour LED notification system and the Galaxy J Max which comes with a 7- inch WXGA display.

The Galaxy J2 2016 is a follow up version of the Galaxy J2 launched in 2015.

The company claimed the new TST technology will improve device performance, including native apps downloading up to 40 per cent faster than devices with double the RAM. The device will proactively shuts down idle processes running in the background and declutters RAM using its intelligent memory system to ensure resources like RAM and processor are free and ready to take on new tasks.

The Galaxy J Max comes with a 7-inch WXGA display, with a resolution of 1280 X 800, 4G, a 4,000 mAh battery and up to 200GB expandable memory.The Galaxy J Max has a 8MP primary camera and a 2 mega-pixel front camera.

Both the smart phones are powered by 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor and have 1.5 GB RAM.

Samsung has retained features like the S bike mode and Ultra Data Saving mode (UDS) in both these handsets.

The Galaxy J2 2016 will be available in Black, Silver, and Gold colours while the Galaxy J Max will be available in Black and Gold.

 The Galaxy J2 (2016) has been priced at Rs. 9,750 while Galaxy J Max will be available for purchase by the end of July at Rs. 13,400.
