Ranchi, Feb 20 (IBNS): Centum Learning in partnership with Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS), Government of Jharkhand, recently organised a day long pre-placement fair for 150 candidates being trained under Saksham Jharkhand Kaushal Vikas Yojana (SJKVY).

The fair was inaugurated by Sangita Lal, Director, District Rural Development Agency and District Skill Officer, Ranchi.

The pre-placement fair gave an opportunity to the SJKVY students being trained at the Centum Skill Development Centre to find out about career options available with various leading organizations under one roof.

Some of the leading companies that participated in the pre-placement fair were Welspun India, Eureka Forbes, T-Wallet, Team HGS and Arul Textiles.

After grueling interview sessions, close to 100 Centum-trained candidates received offers under retail, telecom and textile sectors.

Various services like employability assessments, career guidance and counselling for interviews were also made available to candidates.

Post successful certification by JSDMS, these candidates will directly join these organizations, thereby ensuring a strong foundation for their career ahead.

Centum Learning, in association with the JSDMS, is actively mobilizing and skilling candidates in seven districts, namely - Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Khunti, Gumla and Dumka, the organisation said in a release.

In the first phase, the Centum Skill Development Centre in Ranchi is undertaking skilling in three job roles – Sewing Machine Operator – Apparel, Call Center Executive - Telecom, Electrician - Construction Sector, Trainee Associate – Retail. These courses are being conducted under the Saksham Jharkhand Kaushal Vikas Yojana (SJKVY), which aims to provide quality skills training aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and responsive to industry needs.

The 3000 square feet centre  has three state-of-art Retail, Telecom and Apparel labs among other facilities.

Sanjeev Duggal, CEO and MD, Centum Learning said “We are proud to be associated with the Government of Jharkhand to skill the poorest of the poor in rural areas, to eliminate poverty and vulnerability in a sustainable manner and improve their quality of life. Training is something that we have been doing for a decade now. Besides training, we are now focusing on placement of men and women trained in our various centres across the state. We will be setting up many more centres in different parts of Jharkhand, so that youth need not travel far to get employability linked training.”
