New Delhi, July 20 (IBNS): Taiwan is keen on partnering with the Digital India and Smart City Initiative that was recently launched by the government of India, which is expected to penetrate the Indian market in 2015.
Keeping this in mind and to foster further trade development between Taiwan and India, Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a non- profit trade promotion organization, announced the sixth edition of the Taiwan Excellence Campaign.

Taiwan Excellence 2015 was represented by dignitaries from Taiwan and top executives from Asus, HTC, Adata, Karma and Heartway.

With a particular focus on products from the ICT and healthcare sectors, this year’s campaign aims to engage with the Indians through mall promotions, exhibitions, displays and events.

Taiwan is known for its world-class ICT infrastructure and products, cutting edge designs and world-class R&D. It has all the skills to partner with India and play a vital role in its vision to transform the country into a digitally-driven knowledge based society and economy.

Taiwan is also keen in becoming an integral part of the upcoming Smart Cities Initiative, which will help contribute towards enhancing the quality of urban life.

On the launch of the Taiwan Excellence campaign this year, Scott Yang, Deputy Executive Director of the Strategic Marketing Department of TAITRA, said, “Since 2013, there have been more than 70 Taiwanese enterprises that have invested or set up factories in India. 2014 bilateral trade between Taiwan and India reached US$ 6 billion."

"In 2015 and beyond, with prospect of the Government of India’s economic initiatives, Taiwan is bullish about continuous building a stronger bilateral business tie with India and broadening its innovative products’ presence in India. The products being showcased here are reliable, innovative, and remarkable. I am certain that Indian consumers will enjoy great new products from Taiwan that will make their lives more convenient and pleasurable," Yang said.

This year, 61 leading Taiwanese brands offerings products in Information & Communication Technology; Home Appliances; Healthcare; Sports & Leisure and the Machinery industries have pledged partnership with the Taiwan Excellence 2015 Campaign.

This year’s campaign consists of setting up the Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zones at major shopping malls, such as in the Inorbit mall (Mumbai), Mantra Mall (Bangalore), Select City Walk Mall (New Delhi).

The Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zones give consumers the opportunity to experience the latest Taiwan Excellence brand products, and see in real-life setting how these products create excellent lifestyles.

TAITRA is also planning to organize retail displays at the Infinity Mall (Ezone) in Mumbai and at the Pacific Mall in New Delhi from June to December.

Apart from above, TAITRA will also set up “Taiwan Excellence Pavilions” at the Electronica Expo in Delhi and COM-IT expo in Mumbai where Indian consumers & buyers can come and experience the excellence of Taiwan products.

One of the more significant highlights will be the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup, aimed to be India’s biggest tournament for DOTA 2 gamers.

Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup will take place in 2 phases. First will be the elimination round, which will be held in August and September in Delhi & Mumbai and the Finale will be held at Infiniti mall in Mumbai. We welcome all game lovers to joining this exciting competition.
