T V Narendran, MD Tata Steel conferred with 'The fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering'
The prestigious recognition was bestowed on Narendran for his contributions in the field of engineering and his leadership in building scientific institutions.
The fellowship was conferred at a gala function held on Thursday at the Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad during the annual convention of INAE.
The function led to the formal induction of T V Narendran into the academy by presenting the Fellowship Certificate at the glittering Induction Ceremony.
The fellowship from the INAE Council was announced on August 26 and is effective from November 1. The Academy’s activities and programmes would be highly enriched with the counsel and active involvement of Mr. Narendran.
Speaking on the prestigious occasion, T V Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel, India & SEA said, “I accept the fellowship on behalf of all my colleagues at Tata Steel and the engineering and technology fraternity. It’s an honour to have been bestowed with this recognition. I take this opportunity to thank Indian National Academy of Engineering for the honour and assure them of my support.”
The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), established in 1987, is a ‘Peer’ body of distinguished engineers and technologists.
The Academy covers the entire engineering profession and aims at the promotion and advancement of the practice of engineering and technology and their applications to problems of national importance.
The Academy is also a Member of the International Council of Academics of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS). As on date, INAE has 756 Indian and 69 Foreign Fellows. The induction of T V Narendran is truly a matter of pride for the corporate world and the entire engineering and technological community.
