Sony Pictures unveils regional plan ahead of Vivo IPL 2016

Kolkata, Apr 6 (IBNS): Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) on Thursday, unveiled their regional campaign for VIVO IPL 2016 to further strengthen their reach through strategic market activation and localization of content.

The network has decided to continue the language feeds in Tamil, Telugu and Bengali as well.

The VIVO IPL fan parks, a BCCI initiative, are a primary medium to engage with audiences across the country and enhancing the viewing
experience of the fans to relive the excitement that comes with watching a live match.

As a part of ongoing initiatives to bring in newer audiences, SPN will broadcast the matches in the local regional feed at the VIVO IPL fan
parks that will be hosted across 35 cities in the country.

The new marketing campaign launched by SPN for VIVO IPL 2016 is
themed-‘Ek India Happywala’, and it engages with the audiences on a deeper level through current social issues. Conceptualized to a fresh outlook, it appeals to every Indian to build an empowered nation that respects differences in its cultural fabric but at the same time rises above those differences to create an atmosphere of dignity and harmony.

SPN has taken the marketing for the campaign across a 360 degree outreach using outdoor, radio, television and print.

Prasana Krishnan, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Sports Cluster- Sony Pictures Networks India said, “As the exclusive
television broadcaster of VIVO IPL, we are committed to taking on initiatives to increase the viewership of the game and continued our
pioneering initiative of multi-language feeds in Tamil, Telugu & Bengali available across markets. We have launched a very powerful message through our VIVO IPL 2016 campaign- ‘Ek India Happywala.’ This campaign reflects the inspiration that an iconic brand like VIVO IPL can seed into the society as it urges every Indian to create a happier India.”

“The atmosphere of anticipation is high amongst viewers who are looking forward to the two new teams making their debut this season as
well as the line-up of the top International and Indian players at VIVO IPL 2016,” he added.

The English feed will be available on SONY ESPN & SONY ESPN HD channels.

The Hindi feed will be available on MAX, Sony SIX HD.

The Tamil, Telugu & Bengali language feeds will be available on Sony SIX.

The first match of VIVO IPL 2016 will be played on April 9, between Mumbai Indians and  Rising Pune Supergiants.
