Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The Rupee on Wednesday slipped by nine paise at 70.58 against the US Dollar in early trade on rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at forex market said.
Strong dollar against other currencies overseas pushed the local unit down in early trade, however strong opening in equity market capped from decline, dealer said.
A major fluctuation was seen in the local unit as it recorded intra day high and low at 70.68 and 70.49 respectively, they added.
