RBI says second bi-monthly meeting of Monetary Policy Committee advanced to June 4

Mumbai, May 17 (IBNS): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advanced the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting by a day to 4 June, 2018, accordin to a release issued by the central bank.

The notice, released on Wednesday, said that owing to certain administrative exigencies, the Second Bi-monthly Monetary Policy meeting for 2018-19 will now be held on June 4-6, 2018 instead of on June 5-6.

The schedule for Monetary policy Committee meetings for the year 2018-19 was published by the Reserve Bank of India on March 21, 2018. 

There is no change in the dates of all other MPC meetings for the year 2018-19, the RBI said.

According to the schedule, the Third Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19 will be held July 31 and August 1, 2018, the Fourth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19 will be held on October 3 and 4, 2018, the Fifth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19 will be held on December 4 and 5, 2018 and the Sixth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19 will be held on February 5 and 6, 2019.
