Kolkata, Sept 30 (IBNS): The Dadha Group owned NetMeds.com, India’s first e-marketplace for pharma to offer delivery across the country, plans to set up operations in Kolkata to fulfil the growing demand for medicine to treat chronic ailments such as diabetics, hyper tension, among others, in the eastern region.

Netmeds aims to set-up the operations in the last quarter of FY15-16 to ensure faster delivery of products in the region. Apart from branded drugs, portal also offers generic alternatives for every medicine ordered.

Commenting on the announcement Pradeep Dadha, Founder and CEO said, “We have seen patients from this region travel to other cities for medical treatments and for them to source the medicines prescribed by the doctor, becomes a challenge. The company’s pan India reach offers a unique solution to make all kinds of prescription medicines accessible from anywhere in the country”.

Netmeds said it plans to expand its presence by setting up operations in 16 metro and non-metro cities in the next 12-18 months period.
