MOU between SAIL-ISP , Eastern Railway for Rail over bridge at Asansol

Kolkata, May 23 (IBNS) SAIL-ISP and Eastern Railway signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a road over bridge (flyover) on G.T. Road level crossing near Kumarpur at Asansol in presence of Babul Supriyo, the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation on May 21.

The MoU was signed by Vivek Gupta, GM projects on behalf of SaIL-ISP and by Manosh Sarkar, Chief Engineer (Con. II) of Eastern Railway, to share the construction and cost equally.

Later the foundation stone of the said Road Over Bridge was laid by Babul Supriyo in presence of R.K.Rathi, CEO, SAIL-ISP and P.N.Ram, CAO (CON) and N.K. Sachan, DRM, Asansol, Eastern Railway.

The proposed project will help increase the efficiency of ER in handling increased steel dispatches from SAIL-ISP’s newly expanded steel plant, and also benefit the commuters immensely by eliminating the inconvenience owing to frequent closure of railway crossing, read a government statement.
