Mercedes-Benz launches a special GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ luxury SUV

Kolkata, Aug 15 (IBNS): Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz on Monday launched a special GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ to mark the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence and to mark the successful run of the GLC in the Indian market, since its debut in June 2016, according to the company.

The Mercedes-Benz ‘Celebration Edition’ will be a limited edition car.

According to the company, the GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ offers a sporty exterior and a plush luxurious interior.

With this launch, Mercedes-Benz India adds yet another paint option in the GLC series in India - the ‘Designo hyacinth red’.

The GLC ‘Celebration Edition’ was launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, and will be available across all Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

“We are glad to launch the GLC Celebration Edition to commemorate India’s 70th Independence day and also celebrate the SUV’s overwhelming success in the Indian market since its debut, a year ago. The GLC underscores our philosophy of introducing world-class products from our global portfolio, for our discerning Indian customers. The sporty exterior and interior accessories offered in the ‘Celebration Edition’ enhances the car’s striking appearance. We are positive that the Celebration Edition will delight the customers who desire to make the best of every ground. With the launch of GLC Celebration Edition, Mercedes-Benz celebrates its long-standing relationship with the Indian customers,”  said Folger.


Some of the features of this luxury SUV include an LED Logo projector fitted on the exit lamps in the side doors, an exterior mirror housing, sports pedal, a Garmin Map Pilot SD card system for user-friendly navigation, accurate map data and excellent route guidance, etc.
  
The GLC 220 d ‘Celebration Edition’ is priced at Rs. 50.86 lakh and the GLC 300 ‘Celebration Edition’ is priced at Rs. 51.25 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India)

Set up in 2009, Mercedes-Benz India’s production facility is spread over 100 acres in Chakan near Pune. Since June 2015, Mercedes-Benz India also commenced production from its new expanded production facility located in the same premises. Mercedes-Benz India is part of Mercedes-Benz’s Global Production Network.

Mercedes-Benz India product portfolio comprises the locally produced Mercedes Maybach S 500, S-Class, E-Class, C-Class, CLA luxury sedans and the GLA, GLE and the GLS luxury SUVs. 

The production facility now carries an investment of INR 1000+ crores and has the largest installed production capacity for any luxury carmaker in India.

According to the company, Mercedes-Benz India has the largest network spread among any luxury carmaker, with presence in 41 Indian cities through 89 outlets.
