Kolkata's 'No Refusal' AC taxis can be booked on Meru Cabs App

New Delhi, Nov 23 (IBNS): Marking the first step towards aggregation with local players, Meru India’s most preferred radio cab service today announced a partnership with local air conditioned ‘No Refusal’ taxis in Kolkata.

Backed by its robust technology, Meru will act as a booking facilitator for local taxi segment through this partnership.

Meru will provide AC City Taxis access to its technology and will enable bookings through the Meru Cabs App by the consumers. Kolkata’s local taxis using Meru’s platform will follow state regulated fares and customers will be charged a nominal convenience fee of Rs.20 to be paid over the fare displayed on the meter.

One of the advantages of this tie-up will be that these local city taxis will come to passenger pick up point for this nominal convenience charge instead of passenger hailing it on the streets. Customers will have access to Meru’s pioneering features like ‘Trip Tracker’ and ‘ICE’ (In Case of Emergency), especially for the safety of women passengers.

Dedicated to providing quality and seamless services to its customers, Meru will undertake training program where they will impart knowledge on customer service and etiquettes and use of Technology for all the taxi drivers under Meru Training Academy for all local taxi drivers before adding them to the platform.

Commenting on the announcement, Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO, Meru Cabs said, “Convenience and connectivity have been key challenges for commuters in Kolkata. By adding the large supply of the city's local taxis to its platform Meru will enable customers utilize local taxis and travel with ease. Backed by its robust technology, Meru endeavors to provide a wide array of travel services to its customers all across India.”
