Key Indian benchmark indices start week on a strong note

Mumbai, May 7 (IBNS): The Indian market began the week on a strong note with BSE Sensex up 292.76 points at 35208.14 and NSE Nifty up 97.20 points at 10715.50.

According to market reports, overall gains in financials, metals, auto and energy stocks boosted the market.

Top gainers on Monday included GAIL, M&M, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HUL, Hindalco and Tata Steel while Lupin, Dr Reddys Labs, TCS, Coal India, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma and Cipla were some of the stocks that posted a loss.
