J&K Bank starts online exams for recruitment of Relationship Executives

Srinagar, Sept 6 (IBNS): As a first exercise of such scale in Jammu and Kashmir, J&K Bank on Saturday started online examination for the posts of Relationship Executives (RE) at 163 centers set up across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
The centers included numerous educational institutions across the state. The online examinations were held directly by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Mumbai with technical expertise being facilitated by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the bank said in a statement.
 
In four-sessions on Saturday, more than 13000 candidates appeared for the online tests that will continue on 6th, 12th and 13th of this month. Around 48,000 candidates have applied for the posts and are expected to appear for the examinations.
 
For smooth and efficient conduct of these tests, the bank has established Command Centre at the Corporate Headquarters here besides constituting special supervisory teams to monitor the arrangements at examination venues.
 
 Senior officers of bank's Human Resources Division (HRD), Technology and Information Systems Division (T&ISD besides personnel from TCS were monitoring the process and progress of the examination online from the Command Centre, a statement read.
 
Chairman and CEO JK Bank Mushtaq Ahmad also visited the Command Center and expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the examination on day one.
 
He said, "Given the kind of infra-structure we have in the state to conduct online examinations on such a large scale, it is a huge task to be accomplished with competence and patience. And I feel glad to see our staff organizing this huge exercise meticulously with a keen sense of duty."
 
 "The recruitment drive for RE's is part of the bank's multi-pronged strategy of expand-consolidate-innovate where-in expansion of bank's foot-print further within J&K and outside is followed by regular consolidation of systems and processes besides creating a right-blend in HR base simultaneously i.e. right-mix of experienced and energetic, knowledgeable and innovative people", he added.
 
 Feeling satisfied over the successful conduct of online exam on day one, the bank's Senior President HRD Abdul Rauf Bhat said, "We are grateful to all the institutions, state agencies for their support that made this valuable exercise successful today."
 
 "Also, I congratulate my colleagues in the bank for smooth conduct of exams on first day and hope we accomplish the assigned task with diligence and commitment", he added.
 
Meanwhile, the specially constituted teams headed by officers from senior management visited the centers throughout the day. The candidates expressed their satisfaction with the kind of arrangements at the exam venues.
 
Notably, the bank has already made a link for demo/mock online test available for the candidates on it's website for hands on experience, a statement said.
