Within weeks of entering the Middle East and North Africa, home to one of the world’s largest South Asian communities, JioHotstar continues its global expansion with its entry into Nepal in partnership with DGO.

Following launches in the UK, Canada, Singapore and MENA, Nepal marks the next step in taking JioHotstar to audiences around the world, building on the country’s deep cultural ties with India and longstanding affinity for Indian cinema and television.

The partnership creates a dedicated JioHotstar destination within DGO, comprising of the JioHotstar content universe of blockbuster films, originals, daily television, reality franchises and kids’ content.

Leading the launch line-up is a robust library of blockbuster films, including Bhediya, 12th Fail, Kesari Chapter 2, Super 30, and Welcome to the Jungle; alongside JioHotstar Originals including Hunkkaar, Pritam & Pedro, Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot, Special Ops, Chiraiya, and more.  Regional gems bring further depth to the offering, with titles such as Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Thudakkam available in Hindi; reality and entertainment favourites include Bigg Boss, Koffee with Karan, and India Ka Top 1 Percent, add to the everyday viewing experience.

Viewers can access the JioHotstar experience through DGO’s Mobile and Plus plans, with special launch pricing starting at NPR 249 per month. The Mobile plan is priced at NPR 249 for one month, NPR 699 for three months and NPR 2,499 for a year. The Plus plan is available at NPR 399 for one month, NPR 899 for three months and NPR 2,699 for a year. Viewers can subscribe at www.watchdgo.com or through the DGO app on iOS, Android, Android TV and Smart TV.

The JioHotstar library supplements DGO’s catalogue of Nepali films and shows, with a new Nepali film added every week to keep local storytelling at the heart of the offering. Subscribers can also watch live international sport, including LaLiga, MotoGP and the Carabao Cup, bringing Indian and Nepali entertainment and global sport together in one DGO subscription, with no add-ons.

Commenting on JioHotstar’s entry into Nepal, Amit Malhotra, Head – International Business, JioStar, said, “JioHotstar’s international expansion is bringing together the scale of what we have created in India and the demand for Indian entertainment overseas. Nepal is an important part of that journey, with audiences who have followed our films, television shows and talent for generations. With DGO, we can give that audience a much broader offering, combining JioHotstar’s entertainment with the convenience of a local platform. We see considerable scope in Nepal to build on this existing relationship and make JioHotstar part of everyday viewing across households.”

Speaking about the partnership, Roshan Niraula, Chief Executive Officer – DGO, said, “This partnership is a milestone for DGO and for Nepal’s entertainment industry. Our ambition is to give Nepali viewers more reasons to choose DGO every day, from JioHotstar’s films and shows to a new Nepali film every week and live international sport. We are bringing that choice together on a platform built for Nepal, at pricing designed for our viewers.”
