Indian market closes lower on Monday, MPC begins second bi-monthly meet

Mumbai, Jun 4 (IBNS): Key Indian benchmark indices closed lower on Monday with BSE Sensex down 215.37 points at 35,011.89 and NSE Nifty down 67.70 points at 10,628.50.

Some of the stocks that reported gains on Monday were Dr Reddy's Labs, Idea Cellular, Infosys, M&M, Tata Steel, Reliance and Hindalco while HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, HUL, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finserv and PowerGrid Corp were some of the key stocks that posted a loss.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India is meeting on June 4-6, 2018 for the Second Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19.
