Indian fuel price: Rise in diesel prices; petrol remains unchanged
New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Diesel prices rose by 4 to 5 paise per litre while petrol remains unchanged across major cities in the country on Monday.
In Delhi, petrol retails at Rs 73.08 per litre while diesel costs Rs 66.66 p/l as against yesterday's 66.61 a litre.
In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 78.65 and diesel retails at Rs 69.77, a five paise increase from yesterday.
According to Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel cost Rs 75.10 p/litre and Rs 68.40 a litre.
Similarly, in Chennai, petrol is retailing at Rs 75.85 per litre and diesel costs Rs 70.39 a litre.
In Noida, petrol is available at a price of Rs 72.91per litre and diesel costs Rs 65.81 a litre.
In Gurgaon, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.37 a litre and diesel Rs 65.70 (yesterday it was sold for Rs 65.66 per litre.)
As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
