Indian benchmark indices end positive on Thursday

Mumbai, Mar 30 (IBNS): The Indian market closed on positive note on Thursday, with BSe Sensex up 115.99 points at 29,647.42 and NSE Nifty up 29.95 points at 9,173.75.

However, it could not hold on to the gains seen in the morning hours on the day of March F&O series expiry, reports said.

On Thursday, both Adani Ports and HDFC Bank topped the BSE and NSE. Some of the other stocks that gained were Bharti, GAIL, IndusInd Bank and Reliance.

Among the stocks that declined were BHEL, Idea Cellular, ONGC, Coal India, Tata Steel and Axis Bank.
