Indian benchmark indices close lower on Thursday

Mumbai, Dec 28 (IBNS): The Indian market closed lower on Thursday with BSE Sensex down 63.78 points at 33,848.03 and the NSE Nifty fell 12.90 points at 10,477.90.

According to media reports, investors chose to remain cautious due to rising crude oil prices and SEBI board members meeting.

Thursday was also the last futures & options contracts expiry of the year.

Top gainers included Hindalco, UPL, Vedanta, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, Wipro, ICICI Bank and Dr Reddys Labs while SBI, Hero Motocorp, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma and Adani Ports declined.
