Hasit Joshipura appointed as Head of L&T Corporate Centre

Mumbai, Sept 16 (IBNS) L&T on Wednesday announced the appointment of Hasit Joshipura for its Corporate Centre that functions as a nodal unit across all businesses and Group Companies of the conglomerate.

In addition to securing the full benefits of the overall strengths of L&T, the Corporate Centre will identify synergies and ensure sharing of best practices. This is in line with the Company’s strategic plan to re-group competency centres across its various business verticals.

Prior to joining L&T, Dr. Joshipura was Senior Vice President, South Asia and Managing Director – India of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK). 

He was also the Chairman of the Board of GSK, Sri Lanka. 

A graduate in electrical engineering and alumnus of IIM- Ahmedabad, Joshipura completed his doctorate at the School of Management, IIT, Mumbai. 

He has over 33 years of experience in several leading organisations including the Tata Administrative Services, Unilever Group and Johnson & Johnson.
 
Commenting on the appointment, A. M. Naik, Group Executive Chairman, L&T said that “in the rapidly changing business environment, Joshipura’s diverse experience will add fresh perspective to our various businesses.”

Joshipura will be inducted into the Company’s Executive Management Committee and will assume responsibility for corporate functions, and will drive formulation and implementation of the company’s strategic plan.
