Essel Highways becomes IMS certified company in toll sector

Mumbai, Aug 3 (IBNS): Essel Highways Limited, the road infrastructure arm of Subhash Chandra led Essel Group, has been rewarded for its efforts in providing road infrastructure with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certificate.

The certificate has been issued by British Standard Institutions (BSI) India for the provision of Toll Operations and Maintenance of Roads as per Concessionaire Agreement Requirements” after a systematic audit of the company’s ‘Toll O&M’  business. 

The certification will be valid till 2019 subject to successful surveillance audits in the coming years.

The certification substantiates execution excellence with quality, road traffic, safety management, heath and environmental care for the benefit of business and key stakeholders.

The IMS certification is a quality system that improves the process and service quality in a company and thus leads to increased efficiency within the system.

CEO Ashok Agarwal, Essel Infraprojects Limited, on the accomplishment said, “These certifications are a testimonial of Essel Highways commitment to international standards of operations. We are dedicated to continuously improving the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety management practices in order to provide world class standards at our project sites."

"Going forward, we are hopeful in not only consolidating our position but looking at state-of-the-art innovations which will not only match but surpass global benchmarks in road infrastructure,” said he.

Essel Highways has 14 roads with 10 operational assets with an asset value of USD 2.0 billion.

It operates eight state and two national highways while one state highway and three national highway projects are under construction.

The company has so far executed more than 4,400 km of roads in nine states.
