Eight core industries' output slows to 3.6 percent in May
New Delhi, July 2 (IBNS): The Eight Core Industries index has slowed down in May to touch 3.6 per cent higher as compared to the index of May, 2017, revealed government data released on Monday.
The index marked a growth of 4.6 per cent in April.
The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
"The combined Index of Eight Core Industries stands at 131.4 in May, 2018, which was 3.6 per cent higher as compared to the index of May, 2017. Its cumulative growth during April to May, 2018-19 was 4.1 per cent," read a statement issued by the government.
