Eicher launches personal utility vehicle Multix

Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between Eicher Motors Ltd and Polaris Industries, launched Multix a personal utility vehicle, in Kolkata, on Wednesday.

CEO of Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd, Pankaj Dubey said: “Multix is a ground-up innovation, designed and engineered for the independent businessman.”

It is a multi-utility vehicle that can be used for long distance travel, and custom-made to suit the Indian customer with its five seats and space to carry minimum of 4-5 kg of weight.

The vehicle is equipped with features like the X-PORT, a power-take-off from generates up to 3KW power and can be plugged in with other electrical devices such as water pumps and generators to make them work.

The vehicle also has an independent suspension feature where-in each wheel has its own suspension and high ground clearance to face any terrain.

On the safety front, the car has a tubular frame that provides strength and an uncommon roll over protection system (ROPS) so that even in case of an impact, the chassis remains stable.

It is a diesel car with a mileage of 28.45kmpl and has boot space of 1918 litres that can be extended by removing the rear seat.

Two variants in four colours are available: the AX+ model, priced at 3.19 lakhs  is the business car variant, and the MX model, priced at 3.49 lakhs is the family car variant.

The company has tied up with Chola, Bank of India , HDFC Bank and Shriram Finance for customer financing options.

The car is being manufactured in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
