Cinepolis opens 5-screen multiplex at The Grand Venice Mall in Greater Noida

New Delhi, Oct 3 (IBNS): Cinépolis, India’s 1st international and world’s 4th largest movie theatre chain, has opened its 5-screen multiplex at The Grand Venice Mall in Greater Noida on Monday.

With the launch of this property, the tally of Cinépolis multiplexes in the city now stands at 29 screens across 8 properties in National Capital Region.

Cinépolis is one of the first properties to start operations at The Grand Venice Mall which is located off the Yamuna Expressway, in a fast growing NCR area, adjacent to Noida.

This, first of its kind mall, is inspired and themed after the city picturesque of Venice and is situated 15 minutes away from Noida. 

Speaking on the occasion, Javier Sotomayor, Managing Director, Cinépolis India said, “We are delighted to introduce our first property in Greater Noida. This launch is in line with our strategy to expand our presence in Delhi/NCR area and The Grand Venice is a landmark venue to be present in. We have aggressive expansion plans which include investment of upto INR 800 crores over the next six year. The aim is to become one of the top 3 players in the Indian exhibition space in the next 3-4 years.”

Ashish Shukla, Director Expansion, Cinépolis India said, “Greater Noida is an evolving destination for the movie goers and has truly become a much talked about entertainment destination. Considering the growing demand for progressive entertainment in content as well as technology, we can see the potential for entertainment and the exhibition business, here. This new cinema will expand our current NCR circuit from 24 to 29 screens. We have 70 plus screens planned to be opened in the Delhi NCR Region in the next couple of years. ”

Speaking on the occasion, Devang Sampat, Director – India Strategic Initiatives, Cinépolis India said, “Cinépolis is on a continuous growth trajectory in India and the new launch in Greater Noida is one of our most remarkable achievements. Our theatres are equipped with the best sound and projection systems to provide the most intimate atmosphere for the movie goers, coupled with that we have RealD 3D technology for best 3D movie watching experience. The property also offers a plethora of F&B options from our signature gourmet concept chain, Coffee Tree. The theatre has specially designed seating with ample leg space to ensure maximum comfort and a superlative movie watching experience.”
