Carlsberg India announces new associations to strengthen its footprint in India in 2017

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS): Reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market and strengthening its increasing footprint in the country, Carlsberg India, the number 3 player in the Indian Beer market, has announced two new contract manufacturing associations across Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

Associating with Lilasons Industries Ltd. in Maharashtra and with Pali Hills Breweries in Jharkhand, Carlsberg India aims to further strengthen its operations in the states.

In addition to its existing brewery in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, the association with Lilasons Industries Ltd. is a step to meet the growing demand and address Carlsberg India’s significant growth opportunity in the state.

To ensure delivery of Carlsberg’s global quality standards significant investments in equipment, automation and processes have also been made by Lilasons to upgrade brewery operations in Maharashtra.

The brewery shall cater to manufacturing of Carlsberg Elephant and Tuborg Strong.

Advancing its operations in the Eastern region, the association with Pali Hills Breweries, is also aimed at establishing a local footprint in the state of Jharkhand and further strengthen Carlsberg India’s position in the state.

The state-of-the-art brewery located in Patratu, near Ranchi, Jharkhand shall be used to manufacture Carlsberg and Tuborg brands. The brewery presently has a production capacity of 0.2 million hectolitres per annum.

Speaking on the occasion, Michael N. Jensen, Managing Director, Carlsberg India said “Maharashtra and Jharkhand are two very important markets for us within India and we are pleased to announce our associations with Lilasons Industries Ltd. and with Pali Hills Breweries. Carlsberg India has seen significant growth from both the states over the last few years. While Maharashtra is a growing market for Carlsberg India and this association is a step towards strengthening our operations in the state; our association in Jharkhand is aimed at ensuring that our focused brand portfolio is available to our consumers in the region. The positive response from the states is a testimony to the consumer endorsement of our products and we are extremely happy about it. We hope this association will help us continue our growth in the years to come.”
