Kolkata, Mar 22 (IBNS): BSNL Kolkata Circle is set up 1000 more mobile towers for strengthening its connectivity throughout its jurisdiction.

Further, broadband machines are being stationed at the towers so that voice call service over landline connections can be provided without any disturbance to the customers.

This was stated by S P Tripathi, Chief General Manager of Kolkata Telephones at a press meet, here on Wednesday.

He further mentioned, BSNL is focussing on providing better voice service through data and hence more than 100 crores is being spent for overall network upgradation in its areas.

Tripathi also stated, soon BSNL connectivity will be made available within metro rail. Presently, the company has 2042 BTS towers in Kolkata area.

In its latest move, BSNL has introduced a scheme called Limited Fixed Mobile Telephone Facility by which landline service will be provided over mobile.

It will enable a customer having BSNL landline and wi-fi broadband connection to make voice calls through a smartphone, laptop, tab or even desktop at the expense of the BSNL landline connection to any network without depending on his mobile network.

This service is supported by all mobile operating systems including android, apple and windows.
