Kolkata/Bengaluru, Mar 14 (IBNS) Bosch Limited, in collaboration with Bharath University has launched a training center in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Located inside the premises of Bharath University the joint certification center was inaugurated on March 14, 2016.   The event was graced by Dr. S. Jagatrakshagan, Founder Chairman, Bharath University, Former central Minister, Dr. J. Sandeep Anand, president, Bharath University, Dr. M. Ponnavaikko, Vice-Chancellor, Bharath University and Abhijit Kallianpur, Senior General Manager, Automotive Service Solutions Bosch Limited, India.

Spread across 3600 sq.ft, the joint certification center has been set-up to provide quality training to students. The Center will impart training in the areas of diesel systems, gasoline systems, diagnostics and auto electricals among others areas.

With an aim to impart quality skills that would help the youth of India build a sustainable future, the training material has been developed and provided by Bosch.

The Center has been equipped with the latest Bosch Equipment, such as, Fuel Injection Test Bench, Auto Electrical Test Bench, Diagnostic Scanner, Bosch vehicle lift among others.

The training center will provide joint certification programs to students of Bharath University, technicians and service personnel alike.  On an average 100 training programs will be conducted every year.

Commenting on the inauguration of the technical center, Vijay Pandey, regional president, Automotive Aftermarket, Bosch Limited, said, “In the Automotive Aftermarket sector, Bosch is among the highest generators of employment. However, given India’s insufficient labor pool there is a need to build on the country’s employability level, the same has also been identified by the Government of India which has initiated the Skill India program. To address this concern Bosch has collaborated with Bharath University in Chennai to offer quality training programs. Our joint vision is to ensure the youth of India is able to build a sustainable future.”

M.Ponnavaikko, Vice-Chancellor, Bharath University, said “There is a real concern in the country that most of the Engineering graduates passing out from the Indian Universities are not readily employable.  64% of employers are “somewhat”, “not very”, or “not at all” satisfied with the quality of engineering graduates and their job skills and only 36% are satisfied with the employability of graduates. Our system must be revolutionized and the institutions must be revamped to go to the next level of the education ladder to produce a generation of skilled, educated, trained, productive and employable youngsters. As India is blessed with great number of young population, our education system must make sure to fully equip this generation before they enter the work sphere.  To address this issue Bharath University is collaborating with Bosch Limited to create an industrial environment inside the University campus. We are certain our students will benefit from the industry based training.  I am confident that this training center will be a real resource of support for students who are aspiring to be excel in domains related to engineering.”
