Saudi attacks kill 4, suicide bombing close to holy site in Medina

Medina, July 5 (IBNS) At least four security officials were killed and five others were injured as a suicide bomber attacked a police post outside the holy mosque in Saudi Arabia's Medina city, media reports said.

Four policemen were killed and five others were injured in Madinah when a suicide bomber struck in the vicinity of a police post outside the Prophet’s Mosque,Arab News reported quoting interior ministry.

According to reports, the attacker detonated the explosives after he was outside the mosque.

Medina is the second holiest city in Islam.

On the same day, two  attacks were reported from other Saudi cities-Jeddah and Qatif.

Amid explosion, the attacker was killed in Qatif and no casualty has been reported.

Another suspected suicide bomber detonated a device and died close to the US consulate in Jeddah city. No casualty was reported.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
