An unexploded mortar shell went off in the field in Pakistan's Fazalabad Bala village on Saturday, which left a seminary student dead.

The deceased student was identified as 22-year-old Inamullah.

Local residents told Dawn News that the incident occurred when the youth, Inamullah, 22, came across an unexploded shell lying in a field where he was cutting maize in the jurisdiction of Lal Qila police station.

Police said the unexploded mortar shells were left behind by terrorists who escaped from the region.

A large number of seminary students, teachers, relatives and locals attended the funeral prayers of the deceased person.
