No Indian killed in Italy earthquake

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IBNS): No Indian has been killed in the earthquake which hit Italy on Wednesday, officials said.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted:"Massive earthquake of 6.2 magnitude has struck Italy. @IndiainItaly has informed me that there is no report of any Indian casualty."

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter Scale hit  central Italy on Wednesday.

As per the USGS website, the epicentre of the quake was located

South-East of Norcia at latitude  42.714 degrees north and longitude 13.172 degrees east.

The quake was felt at 1:36 UTC.

The quake hit at a depth of 10km (six miles), USGS website said.
