Grave of Ahmadi man desecrated in Pakistan

Islamabad: An episode showing the way minority community members are dealt with in Pakistan, a grave belonging to an Ahmadi man was desecrated, dug up and his remains were thrown out recently, media reports said on Monday.

Ishfaq Ahmed was a member of the heavily persecuted Ahmadiyya community. Unknown individuals on the night of May 19, desecrated and dug up Ahmed’s grave, and threw out his remains, reports The Friday Times.

Saleem ud Din, the spokesperson of the Ahmadi community in Pakistan, tweeted: "In a horrific incident the mortal remains of an Ahmadi were dug from his grave & thrown out. The incident happened during night between 19 & 20 May.

The grave was of Ishfaq Ahmad son of Dr. Sarwar sahib in village Sangu, near Achini Payan, Peshawar was dug out by unknown persons."

It is still not clear who carried out the attack.
