Merged, not extinguished: Govt on Amar Jawan Jyoti row

New Delhi/IBNS: The central government on Friday clarified that the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' or 'eternal flame' at India Gate will be merged with the torch at the National War Memorial and not extinguished after the development stirred a row, media reports said.

New Delhi/IBNS: After burning for 50 years, the eternal flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate lawns will be extinguished forever and will be merged with the National War Memorial's torch at a programme on Friday.
