Youth shot dead in Manipur

Imphal: A youth identified as Saikhom Subol of Uripok Achom Leikai was shot dead by suspected armed miscreants on Monday at Kadangband, Imphal West.

Police said the body was taken to hospital for post mortem. The youth was the son of a retired army personnel.

Meanwhile people came out in large numbers and shouted slogans against Kuki miscreants for creating a crisis in the state by killing innocent people. The streets of Imphal were packed with protesting people and they also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding action against Kuki miscreants.

Farmers also protested the attacks by miscreants which has seriously affected the normal farming activities.

Police has asked all farmers to contact the concerned SP before going out to paddy fields.
