Kolkata/Murshidabad, Mar 20 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, police recovered at least 20 crude bombs on Sunday from a house at Harishchandrapur village under Bharatpur Police Station area in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, officials said.

According to police reports, over 20 crude bombs, which were kept in two drums, were recovered in the morning and defused later.

Police have detained a middle-aged woman who is owner of the house. Investigation into the matter has been started and the woman is being interrogated.

Locals alleged that the woman is a TMC activist and the bombs were stored to use in upcoming assembly polls.

The ruling party, however, denied their involvement in the matter.

Few days earlier, at least three TMC activists were killed on Mar 8 at Bindarpur village under same police station area, when they were making bombs and one crude bomb suddenly went off.
