WB Assembly passes bills for Dunlop, Jessop acquisition

Kolkata, Feb 27 (IBNS): The West Bengal Assembly on Saturday passed bills for Dunlop and Jessop factory take over.

The Dunlop India Limited (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertaking) Bill 2016 and Jessop & Company Limited (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertaking) Bill 2016 were passed by the Assembly, where it is said that the proprietors or current owners would be liable for 'prior' liabilities.

Before passing the bills, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday announced to acquire two Ruia Group owned companies- Dunlop India Ltd. and Jessop & Company Ltd., which are closed now.
