WB: 6 students killed in road mishap in North Dinajpur

Kolkata, Dec 3 (IBNS): At least six school students were killed in a road mishap on Thursday at Chakulia area on NH-31 in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, reports said.

According to reports,few students were returning from school when their pull car collided with a truck on NH-31. Five students were killed on the spot.

After rescuing, four injured students were rushed to Kishanganj Medical College and Hospital where one of them died. Three others are currently under treatment.

When police went to the location, they were attacked by local mob. One police vehicle was vandalized and three policemen were badly beaten.

Police lobbed tear-gas cells and fired few rounds of rubber-bullets to bring the situation under control.

However, police arrested the truck but the accused truck driver is still absconding.
