Two Mizoram districts awarded Swachhata Puraskar

Aizawl/IBNS : Among 20 districts selected from across the country, two districts from Mizoram named Kolasib and Serchhip were awarded Swachhata Puraskar award in the function organized to observe World Toilet Day 2020 by Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti on Thursday.

In Kolasib district, the Swachhata Puraskar Award was received by a team comprising Dr.H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner, Er.H.Lallianmawia and other officials from Public Health Engineering Department of the district from Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister, Ministry of Jal Shakti, through the Video Conference.

The Public Health Engineering Department, Kolasib district have constructed Community Sanitary Complex in all 34 rural villages and 2057 individual toilet during 2017-2020 under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and is actively taking steps to improve quality of lives through ODF+ under SBM (G) in the district.
