Three Lashker militants killed in encounter in Kashmir's Pulwama district

Srinagar, June 22 (IBNS) : Three Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were killed in a night long encounter with security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district that started on Wednesday evening.

Their charred bodies were recovered on Thursday morning.

Confirming the news, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Shesh Paul Viad tweeted : 3 LeT terrorists eliminated at Kakapora #Pulwama in an encounter including Majid Mir who was involved in a number of killings. JaiHind

Police said militants, holed up in a house in the Kakapora area,  engaged the security forces in a gunfight on Wednesday night.

The house, belonging to a  civilian caught fire during the encounter and was completely damaged.

The slain militants were identified as Majid, Irshad and Shariq. Their bodies got charred in the fire.

All of them were local.

Two rifles have been recovered from encounter site.

Meanwhile, all trains running in Kashmir valley have been  suspended apprehending protests and unrest.
